The third official entry into the Mobile Controller gaming market is here with the Steel Series Stratus. The Stratus is now available for pre-order direct from the Steel Series website and is currently retailing for $79.99. The SteelSeries Stratus stands out from the Moga Ace Power and the Logitech Powershell in that it connects wirelessly via bluetooth which allows it to be used with iPads as well. Review Roundup
Cnet
The controller is a little too cramped for my tastes, and the top shoulder buttons get very crowded (the bottom two triggers, have been shrunken into tiny deformed buttons that are hard to press), but playing Sonic 2, Riptide GP 2, Limbo, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on a propped-up Retina Pad Mini was a lot of fun indeed. An included snap-on cover can pop on the backside for added grip thickness.
$99.99 seems to be the going set price for iOS 7 game controllers. Once again, it feels like too much to pay, but I will say that the Stratus is the most compelling iOS game controller yet, and perhaps the best-feeling, too.
